Local government and decentralization reform in eastern Ukraine: the best practices and future prospects, May 22-24, 2018
From 22 to 24 May 2018 in Svyatogorsk a forum "Local government and decentralization reform in eastern Ukraine: the best practices and future prospects" was held with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine support.
More than 80 participants have taken part in the forum, among them: target AGs, Donetsk and Lugansk regions regional administrations, UNDP, UN Women and development partners.
The event moderator was the CEO of MLS Group - Nadiia Kuzmychova.
For three days the forum participants have exchanged experience on decentralization issues, covered the best local government practices and successful examples of AGs in eastern Ukraine Ukraine.The following issues have discussed at the forum: future challenges and needs for supporting the decentralization reform in 2018; fiscal decentralization, modern effective instruments for attracting investments and resources; initiatives in the field of combating corruption for local self-government in Donetsk and Lugansk regions; network development of the provision of administrative services centers as a tool for the gromada development.
All participants have presented the discussions result in the specialized sections on priority areas identification for further cooperation.
